STARTED
playing the tenor horn in 1978 at Caldervale High School and with
a local band, Airdrie Old Union. Moved to
Coventry and moved onto
bass (tuba) with Coventry Festival, Coventry Imperial, and then
with City of Coventry in 1980.
In 1984 my work took me to the Brstol area
and I then joined
the Sun Life Band for whom I played up until 1994.
My last contest
performance was at the RAH Nationals on
Theme & Cooperation (Horovitz).
Then spent some time playing with local
orchestras. From 1997 to 2000 I
did not play a note whilst my employment
took me overseas, but I again
returned to orchestral playing when I moved
back to the UK (East Midlands).
For many months, now, I have not played a
note but have found solice
in brass arrangements and transcriptions
using Sibelius notation software.
